Landlocked in a popular residential neighbourhood, CEDARS represented the potential for our client to realise both the opportunity and value introduced by utilising the 'brown field' site. Positioned in the rear garden of the client's host property (home) the proposals included removing the existing double garage to enable access and then detailed orientation and sunlight movement/shadow analysis to ensure optimal conditions for the prospective inhabitants, both in terms of internal spaces and aspect and respective private amenity. To create a truly 21st century insertion, the home was also designed to PASSIVHAUS standard(s) for energy consumption and sustainability 'future proofing'.
