Eastfield

Designed as a visually lightweight and transparent pavilion, EASTFIELD represnts the client desire to self build within their extensive rear garden plot with a new home to fully exploit and enjoy the green verdant setting and views to open woodland beyond. With children now 'grown up' and left/about to fly the nest, only 2 bedrooms were required - this releasing the majority of the built volume for the primary living spaces. With a low level. flat green roof and a visually floating ground floor, the appearance and feel is that of a pavilion structure suitable for (and sympathetic to) the existing garden plot - the aim being to enhance and not detract from existing character, respecting the 'back land' form of development.
