We were approached by the clients at POMPEYS to re-design the existing consent for a stone and slate clad modern 2 storey property, which in retrospect was considered to be out of character with the rural nature of the lane. Replacing the existing timber clad workers' bungalow, the design approach adopted was to re-imagine the structure as a simple single storey pavilion with open plan vaulted interior to the private garden housing the primary living spaces. Contemporary in feel - but with traditional material references - Kitchen/dining and living spaces are defined by the feature brick fireplace panel wall enabling each space to enjoy its own relationship with view(s) out to the garden and countryside beyond.
