Candlesticks

RiB ARCHITECTURE were approached by the owners of Candlesticks, which had been a local landmark as a popular restaurant for over 40 years, to consider the potential development of the site beyond. Located within the original industrialised area of the market town of Ringwoood, the proposed plot is bordered by the main premises for Ringwood Brewery, new housing development and light industrial park to the rear.

 

The proposals sought to reflect the urban nature of the location, along with the tight domestic plots across the road to create its own little enclave within this busy area. Properties were to be faced in white painted brickwork and evidence first floor projecting tile hang treatments to relate to local town centre vernaculars.
