Leigham Vale

Located within the Southbourne Area of Bournemouth/Boscombe, Leigham Vale is a traditional large 1930's character detached property set within a large plot and leafy avenue. within walking distance of the beaches.

Displaying much of the design approach particular to the vintage, Leigham whilst being a substaive property was not in line with modern 21st century aspirations for family living. Rooms were compartmentalised in layout design with little or no deined relationship between - other than access off the large hallway. Most notably, the rear spaces failed to present an open, flexible and enjoyable series of vlomues within which to view and relate to the gardens. Further, previous work to create a 2nd floor level within the roof space served merely to offer up constraned and somewhat compromised accommodation.

Our proposals sought to open up the rear of the property with a mix of spaces and volumes, with forms rotated to maximise the view and experience, with the same approach adopted within an expanded roof level.
