Queensway
The project at Queensway represented a further potential option for utilising underused brown field sites within existing estate developments. Here, the context was an original local authority estate of semi detached and terraced dwellings within the market town of Ringwood. Our client's property formed the end of a run of houses, which had the distinct benefit of acdditional width to the plot at the driveway/garage. With the garage addition being double width, this enabled the siite to be considered for an extra dwelling.
Proposals from RiB ARCHITECTURE involved removing the existing double garage and adding a new 2 bedroomed property in its place - in effect, extending the existing terrace. Front and rear gardens were of suffiicient length and width to accommodate amenity to the rear and parking/access to the front without compromising the host property.
